Scientists estimate that up to 75% of us are chronically dehydrated,
that means we are lacking in our body's supply of water. This
dehydration often masquerades as hunger instead of making us feel
thirsty - tricking us into eating rather than taking in more fluids.
Drinking a glass of water 10 minutes before meals can turn off this
false hunger signal and make you eat less. Green tea, and to a lesser
extent black tea, (the most common everyday tea) contain chemicals that
help your body's defenses fight off infections and decrease your risk
for heart disease. Tea may even help protect you against developing
Alzheimer's disease. Moderate alcohol intake (1-2 drinks per day for
women and 2-3 drinks per day for men) may also protect against
Alzheimer's and has a protective effect against heart disease.
Remember
one drink = 12oz. of beer; 4oz of wine or 1 oz of
"hard" liquor
So whether your favorite beverage is water, tea, beer
or wine,
you can enjoy them all in good health!
